To our friends and guests

Our cabins are closed for short term stays:

September 1, 2009 to June 1, 2011

BUT

.......we officiate weddings.......

It's our 40th

Wedding anniversary

and so we've closed our cabins to

have more time with grandchildren,

and

to explore new corners of our country!!!

You can book cabins now for 2011

--June 1 to August 31--

Our log luxury cabins are nestled into the forest.  They are secluded for a true Northern experience, yet only 20 minutes south of Whitehorse, on the Alaska Highway.

Here, at Yukon Forest Cabins you are encouraged to relax and retreat or initiate your own Yukon adventure.

Both families and couples are welcome to stay in our one-bedroom cabins.  We will pamper your palate with mostly home-made and Yukon grown breakfast foods or you can self cater in well-appointed kitchens.

A few words from our guests ...

A wonderful retreat  - peace and solitude - exactly what we wanted!  Carol and Phil - England

Thank you for going to so much trouble to make our Northern Adventure so much fun.  The Mansfield Family - Australia

We so appreciated our stay at this beautiful cabin.  We felt so at home.  Thank you for the treats.  We loved the hike to the secret lake and munched on cranberries along the way.  As we wore the slippers we thought of all those who have stayed here before us and will stay here after us.  Let us all walk a mile in each other's footsteps.  Here's to love, Kindness and World Peace and connections across borders.   We continue to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and your cabin and space was a highlight!!  Kathy and Tom - Alaska

The Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights

You can see these lights starting later in August.

Your hosts - Ken and Liesel Briggs

The Yukon cast its spell, for Ken in 1959, on the flip of a coin!  In 1969 I flew North to work at the Yukon News. This was the pivotal summer in my life - Ken and I met and I loved the Yukon of summer paddling at midnightand winter auroras.

We built a little cabin, travelled and worked overseas with children, always returning to the centre, the place that truly provides us with peace and with grounding for whatever is given us to learn.

We never tire of exploring Yukon's rivers, lakes or trails.  Ken has stories of growing up in a Yukon of gravel roads, no traffic lights, and when the White  Pass railroad hauled the groceries into the territory. Let's share stories.

I am a Yukon Marriage Commissioner and would also be honoured to officiate your intimate wedding.

When we're not at home to welcome you, we do meditation retreats, travel, and volunteer in India and Nepal.

Yukon Forest Cabins

Come drift in a canoe, recline on a hillside, walk in the forest at daybreak, watch a beaver, listen to a loon, snowshoe into the forest,

or see the dance of the Northern Lights.

The seclusion will provide solace for your soul and could be the genesis of your own Yukon journey.
